Bob Dunbar, Chief Executive Officer Since March 1994, Bob Dunbar has been the Executive Director of Adult & Child Mental Health Center, Inc., a JCAHO accredited organization, overseeing 300+ staff, including psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric social workers, nurses and case managers. With an annual operating budget of $33+ million, the center provides a comprehensive continuum of services targeted to adults with a serious mental illness and seriously emotionally disturbed youth. In his tenure with Adult & Child, Mr. Dunbar has implemented state-of-the-art services including: Assertive Community Treatment, Illness Management and Recovery, Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment, Supportive Employment, Therapeutic Foster Care, Family Preservation, and Transitional Living program for Adolescents. Prior to joining Adult & Child, Mr. Dunbar held an Administrator position with Gallahue Mental Health Center of Community Hospitals Indianapolis and Executive Director of Jane Addams Community Mental Health Center. Mr. Dunbar has served on many boards, including, Past President of the Indiana Council of Community Mental Health Centers (the State`s trade association), Officer and founding member of InteCare, Inc. and Officer and founding member of Indiana Behavioral Health Choices. Mr. Dunbar holds an M.A.P.A. in Public Affairs and M.S.ED. in Counseling from Northern Illinois University and a B.A. in Social Services from Western Illinois University. Mr. Dunbar also holds a CBHE Certification - Certified Behavioral Health Care Executive by the Association of Behavioral Healthcare Management.
Joseph Breyer, Chief Financial Officer Joe Breyer joined Adult and Child in January 2007 as the Director of Administrative Services/CFO. He comes with over twenty-three years of operations and financial leadership experience in a variety of healthcare organizations including a public mental health center, hospitals, physician groups and a managed care organization. His extensive experience includes financial analysis and operational management, compliance, revenue cycle management, financial systems and patient accounting systems. Previously, Mr. Breyer worked as the Chief Operating Officer of Colorado West Regional Mental Health Center and Vice President/CFO for University Managed Care in Cincinnati, Ohio and Financial Analyst for Group Health Associates, Accountant I/II for University Hospital and Staff Assistant/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for Providence Hospital (Cincinnati, Ohio). Mr. Breyer received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati and his CPA in the State of Ohio. He is an active member of several professional groups and is the Past President of the Assembly of Behavioral Healthcare Administrators, Medical Group Managers Association.
Mike McKasson, Director of Adult Services Mike McKasson joined Adult and Child Mental Health Center in 1997 as the Director of Adult Services. He has also served as the Co-Director of the ACT Center of Indiana at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis since 2001. Prior to joining Adult and Child, Mr. McKasson was the Program Director for Community Mental Health Center, Inc. and Project Director for the Indiana Department of Mental Health; Residential Coordinator, Residential Program Administrator and Staff Therapist for Southwestern Indiana Mental Health Center, Inc. and Activity Therapist for Dharma House, Inc. In addition to his experience as a leader in the mental health field, Mr. McKasson has provided instruction to students at several universities, including: Ball State University, Indiana University East, IUPUI and University of Southern Indiana. Mr. McKasson has also been published in many periodicals including: CMHC, Inc.- Newsletter articles, Curriculum Manual on Multidisciplinary Seminar on Community Support Networks for People with Long-Term Illness-Ball State University, A Multi-site Study of Assertive Community Treatment-Hospital & Community Psychiatry and Evidenced-Based Mental Health Practice: A Textbook (Chapter 14)-W.W. Norton & Company, Inc. He received his Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Evansville, Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of Southern Indiana and holds professional licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Tina Cloer, Director of Child and Adolescent Services Ms. Cloer has been with Adult and Child Mental Health Center since 1995 where she has held several positions, including her current position as Director of Child and Adolescent Services. Her past positions with Adult and Child include: Associate Director, Child/Adolescent Services, Team Leader, Family Preservation Services and case manager. Prior to joining Adult and Child, Ms. Cloer worked as a Regional Coordinator and Services Consultant for Arrow Consultation Services. She also held positions as Vocational Evaluation Assistant with St. Vincent New Hope, Youth Guidance Specialist with Pleasant Run Children`s Homes and Child Care Worker for Christole, Inc. Ms. Cloer received her Master of Science in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. She completed her Graduate Course Work in Rehabilitation Psychology at Purdue University and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/English at DePauw University. Ms. Cloer completed internships at both the Koala Adolescent Center and the Division of Aging and Rehabilitation Services.
Greg Smith, Director of Human Resources Gregory P. Smith is Director of Human Resources. He has held this position since November 1998. Mr. Smith is a member of the Executive Staff where he reports to the Executive Director. Prior to this position, Mr. Smith served as the Division Human Resources Director for Magellan Health Services (previously Merit Behavioral Care), Director of Human Resources for Evergreen Healthcare, Inc. and Manager, Human Resources for St. Vincent Hospital and Health Care Center, Inc. respectively. Mr. Smith holds a B.S., Business, Management and Administration degree from Indiana University. Mr. Smith is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (where he also served as their first State Director for Indiana), IndySHRM (formerly the Human Resource Association of Central Indiana), a past member of the National Compensation and Benefits Committee for the Society for Human Resource Management, past President of the Indianapolis Chapter of the American Society for Personnel Administration, former Board Member for the Indiana Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration and was the 1991 Co-chairman of the 1991 Annual Conference Indiana Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration.
Pat Novak, Director of Quality Improvement and Corporate Compliance Officer Dr. Novak has been the Director of QI and Corporate Compliance Officer since 2007. As a member of the Executive Leadership Committee, her responsibilities include coordination of compliance requirements associated with Behavioral Health accreditation with The Joint Commission and State Certification as a CMHC, coordination of quality improvement and risk management activities and the assessment and maintenance of the Corporate Compliance Plan. Prior to joining Adult & Child, Dr. Novak served as the Clinical Director then the Vice President and Chief Professional Officer of Alaska Children`s Services in Anchorage. Before that, Dr. Novak provided direct psychological services for children, adolescents and their families over 14 years in Tulsa, Oklahoma, working in nonprofit agencies. Dr. Novak is currently a member of the Behavioral Health Advisory Council for the Joint Commission. Dr. Novak holds a BS, MS, and Ph.D. in psychology and is an Indiana licensed HSPP.
Fred Privette, Chief Information Officer Fred D. Privette is the Chief Information Officer for Adult and Child Center. Mr. Privette has held this position since May, 2007. Prior to this position, Mr. Privette was a Clinical Systems Analyst with Clarian Health, Director of Information Services for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and Director of Information Services for Winona Memorial Hospital. Mr. Privette holds a BSIM degree from Purdue University and an MBA degree from Indiana University.
Dan Arens, Director of Business Development Dan Arens earned a BS in Psychology from Ball State University and, later, a dual emphasis MBA (Marketing and Management) after beginning his professional career as a Home Based Case Manager at a Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) in East Central Indiana. He then spent 3 years as a Marketing Manager for Insight Communications focusing on regional marketing for 3 major product lines. He returned to the not-for-profit sector as the Director of Community Services for a Richmond, IN based children`s home where he oversaw non-residential operations and founded their therapeutic foster care program. He later accepted an opportunity to lead and expand the children services operations at another Indiana based CMHC as the Director of Child Services. Dan came to Adult and Child in late 2007 and is very excited to focus his attention on marketing, development, and new business opportunities. Dan enjoys being active in the community and is currently a member of the National Social Enterprise Alliance, he participates in the MHCA Marketing and Fund Raising Committee, serves on the Advisory Board for the Indiana State CA-PRTF Project, is a member of the IARCCA Public Policy committee, is a former Loaned Executive for the United Way of Delaware County, and is the former Board President for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Wayne and Union Counties.
