Federal Funds to Support Mental/Physical Healthcare of Local Older Adults
Indianapolis, IN, Sept 23, 2008
The Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has awarded ADULT&child a 3 year grant worth 1.2 million dollars to provide evidence based integrated mental and physical health care to the 65 and up population residing in Marion and Johnson Counties. ADULT&child, a leader in the provision of evidence based practices in Indiana, has been providing mental health services to the older adult population for years, in fact, their 60+ year old population grew 119% from 2003 to 2006. This spike in growth demonstrated vast unmet needs, which lead ADULT&child to pursue this grant opportunity to expand their capacity to deliver quality, evidence based, mental health services to the aging population.
ADULT&childs Older Adult program is the first such program to invest in the delivery of evidence based practices; or delivery models proven effective by significant amounts of research.
