The Access team is the single
point of entry for most adult consumers, and behavioral health referrals for
children. The function of the Team is to provide simple, timely access to
mental health and substance abuse services including crisis services to adults
and children in central Indiana. This includes face-to-face assessments,
telephone triage, scheduling and referral to other teams and referrals to other
agencies when appropriate. The Access team takes telephone crisis calls and
provides triage and intervention with callers in crisis on a twenty-four-hour
basis seven days a week. The team provides face-to-face crisis assessments in
the daytime Monday through Friday, and any face-to-face assessments needed
after-hours or on weekends, is provided through the Community North Crisis Team.
